All Detectors in STALKER 2 and Where to Find Them

Discover all the detectors in STALKER 2 and where to find them to enhance your survival chances in the game. Equip yourself with essential tools for navigating the hazardous environment of the Zone.

In STALKER 2, detectors play a key role in exploring the Zone. They allow you to find artifacts that give the player unique advantages, from increased stamina to improved protection from radiation.

However, in order to get the most out of these tools, it is important to choose the right detector for each situation. In this article, we will take a detailed look at all the detectors available in the game, their features, and how to obtain them.

Detector “Echo”

The Echo Detector is a basic tool that the player encounters at the very beginning of the game. It does not have many functions, but it copes with its standard task: in particular, it helps to find artifacts in nearby anomalies.

“Echo” reacts to approaching an artifact by flashing the LED and short sound signals. The closer you are to the artifacts, the more often and intensely the indicator will flash, and the sound signals will become louder.

This detector is given to the player automatically at the beginning of the game, and can also be found as part of the mission “There and Back Again”, when you find the body of scientist Pyotr Erekin. Despite its narrow functionality, “Echo” will be useful in the early stages, but over time you will probably want to move on to more advanced models.

Detector “Gilka”

The Gilka detector is an improved version of the Echo detector, designed for more accurate artifact search. This device displays the distance to the artifact in meters, which facilitates the search process, although the display is updated with a delay.

It can be used in the early and middle stages of the game, when you have already learned to navigate anomalies, but are not yet ready for more complex devices.

“Gilka” can be obtained by completing the side mission “We will!” in the Garbage area, where you will find yourself in the company of stalkers who need help. It can also be found from merchants in some locations, such as Rostock and Bar 100 X-ray.

Detector “Bear”

The “Bear” detector is a more advanced model equipped with a radar. It allows you to not only determine the direction to artifacts, but also estimate the distance to them. This makes the search process much more convenient and accurate.

“Bear” is especially useful for stalkers who have already learned to navigate the Zone and want to get more accurate information about the location of artifacts.

This detector can be obtained by completing the side mission “Sign of Hope” on the Wild Island, where Professor Boat will give it as a reward for completing the task. In addition, the “Bear” can sometimes be bought from merchants or found in caches.

Detector “Veles”

The Veles detector is a flagship among detectors. A second-generation device that allows you to track the location of artifacts with high accuracy.

The detector displays the location of artifacts as red dots, which simplifies the search even in the most dangerous anomalies. “Veles” is ideal for experienced stalkers who want to get the maximum information about what is happening in the Zone.

To get “Veles”, you need to complete the main mission “In Search of Past Glory”. It can also be found in the inventory of some merchants or in special caches.

Where to buy detectors

Detectors can be found not only in missions, but also from traders. For example, at the Yanov base and in the 100 X-ray Bar, you can buy detectors, as well as many items to improve your equipment. Some of them are available for coupons that you earn while completing missions and selling rare artifacts.

Detector prices vary depending on their complexity and usefulness. “Response” is free and available from the start of the game, “Gilka” can be purchased for 4,000 coupons, “Bear” for 5,400 coupons, “Veles” for 9,000 coupons.
