All bosses in Catherine Classic

Tips, tricks and tricks for completing all bosses in Catherine Classic

At the end of each of the Catherine Classic ‘s playable levels , with the exception of the first (Underground Cemetery), you will encounter a boss, usually depicted in some grotesque form. His image is connected with what exactly Vincent is worried about in his relationship with Catherine and Catherine.

Each boss in the game has one or two special moves that will limit your playstyle. As soon as the boss is about to use something like this (you can recognize it by the sound signals), click on the “Cancel” button to cancel or delay the attack. This makes completing the boss level much easier.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the details of how to beat each boss, bringing you a series of simple tips and tricks. In separate materials, we talked about the endings and shared a short walkthrough of the game .

Fist of a Grudge

Fist of Envy is a giant hand that will follow you as you move through blocks. In addition to the usual way of the main character’s death (falling from blocks), Fist of Envy will try to attack Vincent with a fork. Avoid hitting the plug when driving up the blocks.

Even if you gain a certain distance between Vincent and the Fist of Envy, you can still be subjected to the harmful influence of the boss who will dissect the cubes. Because of this, neighboring blocks will become darker (heavier, which increases the time to move them).

If the Fist of Envy has time to catch up with the hero, then watch the fork. You can still avoid hitting it by moving up the cubes. At best, the Fist will hit the Cuba you are standing on and Vincent will lose his balance, but will not fall down.

As you move up the wall, look for a bell that will turn heavy dark blocks into regular cubes. You may not need the item right now, but it will definitely come in handy in the event that the Fist of Envy catches up with the main character, and he cannot move faster because of the dark cubes.

Immoral beast

The immoral beast isn’t the only threat to watch out for. The spiked cubes introduced earlier in the “Torture Chamber” stage can become the worst enemy. Especially if you ignore them and start moving erratically. Remember that you can step on them to activate, but you have to leave the block before the spikes appear.

The tongue of the Immoral Beast is his main weapon. It attacks in the same way as the Fist of Envy, so when trying to avoid the tongue, use the same strategies that you used during the escape from the Fist.

In addition to its spiteful tongue, the Beast also shoots hearts into the air. They will fall onto cubes. Avoid these hearts by standing to the side or hiding under a suspended block. If you touch any heart, the control will be ruined for a while. You will still be able to move around and perform normal moves, but due to the changed controls, movement will be slower. For those who play on an easy level of difficulty, an Undo button has been made, allowing you to fix all the controls.

Child

The only thing to pay attention to when colliding with the Child is the shock wave. When the boss hits the wall of cubes with his palm, a shock wave will travel along the entire length. And if you find yourself in the zone of its action, you will fall down several levels. This will usually result in Vincent being close to the giant Child, which will require you to act much faster than usual to get back to where you were just recently.

The good news is that you will always know when an attack will be performed. The camera’s angle of view will shift slightly to show you more of what is below, and you will clearly see the child swinging his hand in preparation for a strike. The wave moves up a single column, so if you find yourself in it, just step in the other direction (left or right).

If the Child gets to Vincent, he will use his palm to stab him to death. Such a fate can be avoided in the same way as with the long tongue of the Immoral Beast or the fork of the Fist of Envy. As with any boss, if you stay close to the Child for too long, you will sooner or later die.

The fatal bride

The Doom Bride has abilities that resemble the Child, only she acts faster and uses an avalanche attack (it is much more difficult to avoid it). Rather than climbing a wall as in the Child’s shockwave, Bride of Fatal causes ice to fall from above. Because of this, the main character will fall down several levels. You also won’t be able to grab onto blocks to avoid falling. You just need to wait until the hero stops falling down.

And that is not all. An avalanche can reach several columns as opposed to a shock wave attack. It starts from the top, so when the impact occurs, watch out for the spread of ice blocks. The block wall can be split into two separate sides. The avalanche actually starts with both, so you need to watch the attack, no matter where Vincent is on the wall. When the ice starts to fall, it can fall on both the left and right columns.

An avalanche can be avoided in the same way as a shock wave (by going to the side) or hearts (by hiding under a block).

A child with a chainsaw

The Evil Child returns, and if at the moment of the first meeting he seemed too simple to you, then this time the boss uses a chainsaw.

The first half of the level (separated by a checkpoint) will not offer any serious challenges, which will allow you to break away from the giant child. When you get to the checkpoint, things get much more complicated. The demon child will begin to use its entire arsenal of annoying attacks. First, he uses a giant chainsaw to chop one side of the tower. However, most of the level remains, so you will not fall down. Please note that he can attack from two sides.

A child with a chainsaw will fire a volley of shots into the air, and the shells will begin to scatter across the platforms. Avoid them by watching which blocks turn red. Run away from them as soon as possible. Some projectiles will turn into self-propelled chainsaws, moving in one direction either vertically or horizontally. Horizontal saws are much more dangerous than vertical saws, as they travel back and forth for an indefinite amount of time.

Most of the time will be spent avoiding them. Fortunately, the path to the top is not that difficult.

Vincent’s shadow

Vincent’s Shadow is a seemingly formidable foe. However, upon closer inspection, you will find that the Shadow simply circles around the protagonist, taunting him and trying to simply intimidate. In the first few seconds of the fight, you just need to move to the right and use the blocks so that you can fade into the background. Stay away from the giant wall on the left side as Vincent’s Shadow will bulldoze it, destroying everything on top.

In terms of real threats, the boss isn’t actually as dangerous as the previous ones. He has no attacks against Vincent. The only thing to watch out for is the all-new Black Hole block, which should be avoided at all costs. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that it absorbs everyone and everything that is above (Vincent dies instantly).

Katerina

The Cathedral has only one floor. This is good news. The bad thing is that at this level there is a very angry boss – Katerina. Together with Vincent, Katherine will be in a nightmare. You will have to make sure that she also moves safely through the level and understands all the puzzles. You cannot leave her behind. If any trouble happens to her, the game will be over.

Naturally, with Katherine in tow, you won’t be able to move the blocks at random. She must also be able to climb up. Fortunately, block puzzles at this level do not require any serious mental operations from you. Boss Katherine occasionally hits target blocks with lightning (marked in red). When they glow red, you can tell Katherine to stay put to avoid dangerous areas.

If you pave the road for Catherine, then she will quickly rise up, excluding any dangers.

Thomas Matton

Thomas Mutton has several different attacks, and one of the abilities is designed to slow down the main character. One of the techniques is to kick any block you are standing on. Because of this, Vincent will stumble, and you will have to waste precious time trying to get to your feet. Either if you find yourself on the block that he kicks, or you hang on it, then Thomas attacks Vincent with his boot.

The second offensive ability of Thomas Mutton is connected with a pistol shot. If he shoots at any block, he will explode. It is best to stand in front of an open space in the wall (so that there is no block behind Vincent). Wait until the red laser beam of the pistol is aimed at Vincent, then literally step aside at the last second. You will avoid injury, as well as the destruction of any blocks. If you cannot find an open space, then keep track of which block is highlighted in red. It is at him that Matton will shoot.

His last attack causes random blocks to turn into a different type of cubes (randomly) – for example, heavy or ice. While it doesn’t hurt to climb them, it will still slow your upward movement. When this happens, just stay calm and continue climbing, or undo the block transformation (on easy difficulty with the Undo button).

Dumuzid

Dumuzid has three main attacks, but only one of them leads to instant death during the ascent.

The first move will happen after Dumuzid’s eyes turn red, causing Vincent’s curse and sending a purple cloud to his head. From this moment on, the number of surrounding blocks will change every few seconds (instead of one block, another, more dangerous one – explosive, monstrous, and so on) will appear. If you are lucky and there is a jump block nearby, then rather use it to fly up. You can even undo block switching. For example, click on Undo in the event that a jump block appeared, but then immediately turned into another.

The pace of the boss fight is slightly faster than what you’re used to. Its beam attack targets most of the lower blocks and destroys them in seconds. This significantly reduces the number of possible moves. Fortunately, the puzzles aren’t that hard and won’t force you to think too much. As long as you are climbing at a fast pace, you won’t have to worry too much about this attack.

The third move will be used after the boss raises his ugly head to the second checkpoint. Here Dumuzid will start shooting fire stones at you, falling on separate blocks. You can recognize this attack by the reddening block, while you will have enough time to step aside.

Never forget the effectiveness of the Undo tool, especially when it comes to preserving rejection blocks or removing disgusting bomb cubes. Due to the ever-changing block types, each new playthrough will always be different from the previous one.
