AirPods not working for me in Windows: how to quickly fix it

AirPods, whether they’re AirPods 3 , AirPods Pro , or even AirPods Max , work really well on Windows. Due to the nature of the ecosystem, they are integrated somewhat less than what we can see on our iPhone or iPad, but we have to hope to be able to listen to the audio comfortably. What if they don’t work? We can fix it quickly .

Unbind, restore and reconnect

In the rare case that our AirPods do not work well for us in Windows, the first thing we must do is restore them so that we can then link them again and thus solve any error. Restoring our AirPods is very easy, we will do it like this:

  1. We put the AirPods in the charging case and close the lid.
  2. We wait 30 seconds.
  3. We open the lid of the case.
  4. We search for Bluetooth in the Windows toolbar and enter its preferences. We select our AirPods and tap on Remove Device.
  5. Keeping the cover open, we press and hold the back button of the case until the LED indicator flashes red and then starts flashing white.
  6. We release and close the case.

Good. Now we can reconnect the AirPods to our PC . It’s a good idea to restart it first, just to make sure that no process could be interfering with the Bluetooth behavior. Then we will do this:

  1. We search for Bluetooth in the Windows toolbar and enter its preferences.
  2. We tap on Add Bluetooth or other device.
  3. We select Bluetooth.

AirPods 3 review: even better technology in your ears

  • We put both headphones in their case and open the lid.
  • We hold down the button on the case until the LED indicator flashes white.
  • On the PC we select the AirPods.

With this we will have been able to unlink the AirPods from our PC, restore them to the factory settings and re-link them again. What has to solve any error and has to allow us to continue enjoying the sound quality of the AirPods and the freedom of movement typical of wireless headphones.
