50 things we love about the United States

The land of the free, the home of the brave and probably the most famous country on the planet. Here are our 50 favorite US things (basically, one for each star of the US flag):

1. The Superbowl

The final match of the American football championship is more than just a sporting event. In fact, when it’s time for intermission, it turns into one of the most viewed and biggest concerts in the world, with performers such as Beyoncè, Prince, Madonna, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga.

2. The flag

Nobody loves their country like Americans – and nobody proves it as much as they do. You will see Stars and Stripes everywhere: on the gardens of the houses, on the stickers stuck on the cars, on the hats, on the cupcakes and yes, even on the moon. Fun fact: five of the six flags on the moon are still there, even if they have now lost their characteristic color .

3. AOC & RBG

Two female models belonging to two completely different generations. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (also known as AOC) is a new lawmaker from New York who is rocking the waters (and earning several headlines in national newspapers) in Washington, while Ruth Bader Ginsburg (known to most as RBG) is a veteran Supreme Court judge and an icon of the feminist movement.

4. The churros

OK, OK, they’re not really an American invention, but they’re a staple on every dessert menu across the United States. And we really want to thank everyone who invented or made these fried pasta sticks famous, lightly soaked (ok, completely dipped) in sugar and / or cinnamon and chocolate sauce. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
