Together with Yandex Lavka experts Denis Galakhov and Tatyana Ashchepkova, we talk about unusual drinks that will add color (and flavor!) to summer.
Lemonade with juice
“If you are not a fan of sweet sodas, we recommend taking a closer look at lemonades with juice – due to the lower amount of sugar, they quench your thirst better. Many beverage manufacturers share the trend for natural and ensure that juices, herbs, spices and organic essential oils are responsible for the taste of fizzy drinks,” Denis said. An alternative to sweeteners was also found – natural Jerusalem artichoke syrup. Pay attention to the composition and do not be afraid to try something new – the more natural ingredients, the better.
Morse
Mors is loved for its special sourness and unique tartness of berries. When chilled, this vitamin drink is irreplaceable on hot summer days, and when it’s time to pick berries, it definitely becomes the most relevant. The list of mors’s advantages is not limited to taste and benefits: it perfectly quenches thirst. And it is prepared from almost any berries. Fortunately, Russian producers will not leave us without refreshing mors even in the off-season – you can enjoy the taste of summer all year round.
Cold coffee
When the thermometer reaches sky-high levels, you have to change not only your clothes and plans, but also your morning rituals. Chilled alternatives, such as frappe, espresso tonic and iced latte, replace hot espresso, cappuccino and latte. “If you don’t have time to wait for the barista, coffee in cans comes to the rescue. The choice is not limited to the classics: for example, we sell iced latte with gingerbread or banana and caramel flavors. It’s difficult to recreate this at home. We advise aesthetes to pour the drink from the can into a glass and add a couple of ice cubes,” Tatyana shared.
Cold brew
If classic cold coffee seems too strong to you, try cold brew. This drink is distinguished by a special method of preparation: the beans are soaked for six to eight hours. The technology allows for a characteristic soft taste and reduced acidity. In addition to the classic variation, cold brew with fruit juice is also common. Isn’t it a great replacement for boring cappuccino in the summer?
Cold tea
Did you know that the tastes of chilled and hot tea are noticeably different? Black tea feels softer, green tea is lighter and more unobtrusive. It is also an ideal drink for experiments. You can diversify the taste with fresh fruits and berries (don’t forget to let them brew). Herbs can be added either immediately during brewing or after cooling. We recommend trying iced tea with fresh mint and basil.
