5 Signs of a Pizzeria Where You’re Scared to Order Delivery

Food poisoning in public catering establishments is happening more and more often. Not only shawarma bought on the street can cause harm to health, but also pizza ordered at home, but from the wrong place. How to understand that you have contacted such a company and it is better to avoid its products, “Doctor Peter” found out. Co-founder of the pizzeria chain Artem Shashkov named five signs of a pizzeria from which it is better not to order delivery.

1. Noise in the phone while talking to the operator

If you hear sounds from the kitchen during a telephone conversation (the clink of dishes, the operation of a mixer or blender, the sound of water), there is a possibility that the kitchen and operator areas are combined or located nearby. This means that the room is small and does not allow for the flow of production processes and other sanitary standards.

2. Dirty bag from the courier

The courier must keep the bag in which the pizza boxes are transported clean. You can ask how often he treats the bag with antiseptic. Also, make sure that the courier does not touch the food with his hands.

3. No identifying marks on the pizza box

The company does not have the capacity to produce branded packaging. Most likely, they also saved on kitchen equipment. This may lead to violation of the norms of proper storage of products and product neighborhood, lack of proper disinfestation with all the ensuing consequences.

4. Raw dough

Look at the pizza from below. If the dough is white and sticks to your fingers, the box or the parchment, it is not baked. And accordingly, the filling has not had time to undergo full heat treatment.

5. The cheese does not stretch and has a strange smell.

Traditionally, pizza is topped with mozzarella cheese. There are different varieties of this cheese on sale, and the cheaper the cheese, the fewer natural ingredients it contains. Pay attention to the smell. Low-quality cheese smells like burnt margarine. Natural cheese has a creamy smell. Accordingly, if a company uses cheap cheese, then most likely the other ingredients are also of low quality.
