RPGs similar to Baldur's Gate 3

Neverwinter Nights 2

Our selection opens with a role-playing game that, after many years, still causes awe in the hearts of true fans of the genre.

Neverwinter Nights 2  is a classic party RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, known to the modern generation of gamers from such popular role-playing games as Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds. Players will experience the exciting fantasy world of Forgotten Realms, full of dangerous adventures and cunning conspiracies. Explore dozens of well-developed locations, fight formidable opponents, win the hearts of your partners and try to save the world from the approaching legions of evil. An ideal role-playing game if you are not bothered by outdated graphics and not the most convenient controls.

Drakensang: The River of Time

Drakensang: The River of Time  is the gaming embodiment of the German tabletop role-playing classic and one of the clearest examples that fantasy role-playing games can be interesting and attractive to gamers not only within the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Players will embark on an exciting adventure through the world of Aventuria, where exciting quests, dangerous monsters, ancient secrets and unexpected encounters await them. And the superbly selected music, coupled with an unusual fantasy setting, will not leave anyone indifferent. So if you liked Baldur’s Gate 3 for its adventure atmosphere and well-developed characters, then don’t pass it up!

P.S. Sailor Yana, you are forever in my heart.

Pillars of Eternity

Continues our role-playing selection. A game whose existence is difficult to believe in the realities of the current gaming industry.

Pillars of Eternity  is that rare embodiment of a role-playing classic in a modern wrapper, for which there is no shame at all. The developers from Obsidian Entertainment managed to do an amazing job. The plot of the game is captivating from the first minutes of the gameplay, the characters are well developed and seem alive, and the main antagonist does not miss the opportunity to remind you of what a ruthless and dangerous opponent he is. The quality of graphics and sound is also at the highest level, creating the right atmosphere and immersing the player in a unique fantasy world. Overall, I have no words to describe how amazing this game is. And that makes it doubly offensive that the sequel cannot boast of a similar rating. Definitely play if you haven’t already!

Dragon Age: Origins

BioWare’s final swan song.

The party role-playing game Dragon Age: Origins has been leaving a deep imprint in the hearts of all fans of quality role-playing games for many years now. As in Baldur’s Gate 3, during the exciting plot, players will have to repeatedly make difficult moral decisions that affect the fate of the world and characters, fight against formidable opponents, establish relationships with party members, having intimate conversations in the camp, and try to save the world from the forces of evil . And how beautiful the music in the game is – it’s simply beyond words. The best role-playing game of the first decade of the 21st century!

Divinity: Original Sin 2

Completes our selection. A role-playing game that needs no introduction.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is, of course, rightfully considered the starting point that defined the game mechanics and the future look of Baldur’s Gate 3. Both games offer compelling stories, complex moral choices, exciting battles with interesting opponents, and the opportunity to develop relationships with party members. As a result, you can argue for a long time about which of these two games turned out better. However, one thing is for sure: if you absolutely loved Baldur’s Gate 3, then it would be a crime to pass up Divinity: Original Sin 2.
