3 HR Functions to Survive in the Future

Time goes by so fast and change continues along with the rapid advancement of technology. The work culture continues to experience adjustments, even the various divisions may merge for the sake of effectiveness, but on the other hand, other divisions are born according to the needs of the “era”. But I believe that the HR division (Human Resources) will never be replaced by technology even once. Well, maybe technology can take over various systems ranging from attendance, performance appraisal, payroll, and many other systems. But as long as “human empowerment” is at the core of this division’s work, HR will be a continuous division. Requires a human touch in handling HR. You may not be able to have a heart-to-heart talk with computers or any advanced technology. However, it is human resources who keep up with the times that will have the success to create the peopletalented employee. This has been confirmed. You can’t use the baby boomer way of discussing with millennials.

There are 3 important roles that you need to have as an HR Manager for the continuity and success of Human Resources in the future.

As a digital actor . I make sure that the HR division must be at the forefront as a digital player. This is often constrained, because “usually” the management puts seniors in the HR division on the grounds that they have experience in handling labor unions, handling various cases, and so on. It is fine, but that does not mean that technological development is hampered by those who have obstacles to follow it. It is important for you to place “digital activists” to continue to innovate for human empowerment.

The HR division must work side by side with all divisions. I say all divisions, because each division has its own dynamic. How you understand sales people will certainly be different from delving into the technicians. But it is important for you to know what and how the digitalization is in each division and at least you can find out about it. Even apply the same when they are related.

As a data analyst. Until whenever HR cannot be separated from data. Since the recruitment activity was carried out, you have been dealing with data and this will continue until the employee leaves the company and even the related data will continue to be stored until the specified time. All the data that you have will be meaningless if it is only static data that has never been processed, but if you can analyze it properly, it will give birth to various strategies that will be useful for the progress of your company. Try to identify what data you currently have and what information you can get later by processing this data. This will help you come up with strategies for the future. Apart from that, you can also perform various data collection to continue analyzing.

As a coach. The function of coach, until whenever it will never disappear from the HR division. However, in this function, adjustments should always be made, because as I have reviewed above, who is coached of course according to his generation and do you know that everyone in the company still has to have a function as a coach for those who are in his supervision and on his team . This will be the key to the success of a company.
