When we are in trouble, when we are afraid, when we are sad, when we are happy, in short, we learn from his (pbuh) sunnah how we should behave at every moment of our lives. One of the most effective ways to prepare the young members of the Ummah for life is to ensure that they are familiar with the hadiths . In this article, we have compiled 20 hadiths that we think our little ones can easily memorize and that will be effective in their character formation:
Getting Along Well With Your Believer Brother
“Do not argue with your (believing) brother, do not joke with him that he will not like, and do not make him a promise that you will not fulfill.” (Tirmidhi, Birr, 58)
Being of Good Morality
“The best of you is the one with the best morals.” (Bukhari, Edeb, 39)
Not Dealing with Useless Things
“It is from the beauty of a person’s Islam that he abandons things that do not concern him (non-essentials).” (Tirmidhi, Zuhd, 11)
Being Trustworthy
“A Muslim is someone from whose hand and tongue people are safe.” (Tirmidhi, Iman, 12; Nasai, Iman, 8.)
Being Compassionate
“Allah will not show mercy to those who are not merciful to people.” (Muslim, Fedâil, 66; Tirmidhi, Birr, 16.)
Speaking Good Words
“A good word is a charity.” (Bukhari, Adab 34, Jihad 128, Muslim, Zakat 56)
Speaking the Truth
“Do not deviate from truthfulness (sidq), for truthfulness will lead you to righteousness (birr) and righteousness will lead you to Paradise.” (Muslim, al-Sahih, 29th chapter, v. 4, p. 2012; Tirmidhi, al-Sunan, 46th chapter, v. 4, p. 347.)
Repent
“Everyone makes mistakes. The best of those who make mistakes are those who repent.” (Tirmidhi, Qiyamah, 49; Ibn Majah, Zuhd, 30.)
Controlling Yourself in Times of Anger
“The real wrestler is not the one who defeats his opponent in wrestling, but the one who controls himself when he is angry.” Muslim Birr, 106
Smile
“Smiling at your (believing) brother is charity.” (Tirmidhi, Birr, 36)
Not to be arrogant
“No one who has even a grain of arrogance in his heart can enter Paradise.” (Tirmidhi, Birr, 36.)
The Importance of Being a Cause for Good
“The one who is a means for good is like the one who does good.” (Tirmidhi, Ilm, 14.)
Sending Salat and Salam to Our Prophet (pbuh)
“The people closest to me on the Day of Judgement are those who sent the most blessings and greetings to me.” (Tirmidhi, Witr 21)
Treating Mom and Dad Well
“Allah’s pleasure is in the pleasure of the parents. Allah’s anger is in the anger of the parents.” (Tirmidhi, Birr, 3)
Not to cause difficulties
“Make it easy, not difficult. Give good news, not hatred.” (Bukhari, Knowledge, 11)
Being on the Path of Knowledge
