13 ways to motivate yourself when you don’t feel like it

Discover effective ways to motivate yourself when you’re feeling unmotivated. Find inspiration, set goals, and practice self-care to boost your motivation and achieve your goals.

There are days when we feel unmotivated and when even thinking about positive change is difficult. You don’t want anything at all and every action seems impossible – I know that too. But thanks to a few small steps, we can find motivation and strength even on days like this.

1. . One goal

We often lack motivation in situations where I deal with several things at once. We try to achieve several goals and as a result we fail to achieve any of them. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Focus your energy on one goal only .

2. Inspiration

I am very inspired by people who have achieved what I want to achieve. Or they are trying to. Find blogs , books, magazines, discussion forums, anything that inspires you.

3. Enthusiasm

If we lose our enthusiasm for something, we also lose our motivation to do something. Talk about your goal, read about it, and imagine what it will be like when you achieve it.

4. Adjournment

When we decide to do something, we want to start right away. Don’t do it. Set a date in the future and make it your D-Day. Mark this day on your calendar, make it the most important day of your life – the day your life begins to change. And before that day comes, make a plan. By postponing D-Day, you can focus more on it and your goal.

5. Visibility

Describe your goal in a few words, make it a mantra (eg “Exercise 15 minutes every day”). Write this mantra in big letters and put it on your fridge, next to your computer, next to your bed, hang it up at work – just keep it in your sight at all times . A picture of your goal (toned body) can also help.

6. Disclosure

None of us want to look bad in front of others. So when we commit to something in front of a larger number of people, we put much more energy into fulfilling it. Confide in family, friends, at work.

7. Everyday thinking

Think about your goal every day – this increases the likelihood that it will become a reality. In addition to posting a goal, daily reminders can also help. And if you manage to take one tiny step every day (5 minutes is enough), believe that your goal will come true one day.

8. Support

It is difficult to achieve anything alone. So find a partner with whom you will achieve your goal together. You will support and motivate each other.

9. Small steps

Sometimes it is difficult to start because the first step towards the goal seems too difficult. Someone feels that they have to exercise 5 times a week for 15 minutes right from the start. You don’t have to. Exercise for just 2 minutes. It may seem ridiculously small at first, but don’t add! Try to exercise 5 times a day at the same time for 2 minutes for a week. After a week, increase it to 5 minutes. Do you see where I’m going with this? This way, you will gradually get used to fulfilling your dream, and eventually you will be able to manage even those 15 minutes – and more – without any problems.

10. Small successes

Take as many small steps as you can handle. And rejoice that you have mastered them. Be proud of yourself.

11. Help

If you feel yourself losing motivation, confide in someone. More heads know more and you will also get the necessary support from others.
