Indications of Biamotil

Biamotil is indicated for ocular infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. Corneal ulcers by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia arcescens, Staphylococcus aureus , Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus ( Viridans Group ). Conjunctivitis by Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae.

How To Use Biamotil

You should apply the number of drops of the dose recommended by your doctor in one or both eyes. The duration of treatment should also be established by the physician.

Usual dose for treatment of corneal ulcer:

At the start of treatment, the recommended dose is 2 drops every 15 minutes for the first 6 hours. For the rest of the day, apply 2 drops every 30 minutes. On the second day, 2 drops every 1 hour and from the third to the fourteenth day, 2 drops every 4 hours.

Treatment may continue for more than 14 days if corneal re-epithelization has not occurred.

Usual dose for treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis:

Apply 1 or 2 drops every 2 hours for the first 2 days of treatment. Then apply 1 to 2 drops every 4 hours for the next 5 days.

For greater convenience, you can use the ophthalmic ointment at night at bedtime.

Biamotil Side Effects

Local burning or discomfort; ardence; formation of eyelid crusts; itching; spots on the cornea; foreign body sensation in the eyes; Bitter taste in the mouth; edema in the eyelid; tearing; nausea.

This medicinal product is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin, other quinolone derivatives or any of the other ingredients of its formulation.
