Today we talk about diphthongs. The diphthong is a set of two vowels.In English only six vowels responsible for twenty-two vowels. All vowels can be classified in several ways, namely:

There are eight diphthongs joined together in the English language. To make diphthongs, your tongue, your lips must move simultaneously. Sometimes, the tongue takes a shorter path, in some diphthongs, the tongue must move at a distance from the mouth.

- The first three diphthongs have the vowel sound / I / in words like “pit” or “if ” in the final position. To make this sound, your tongue must be high and towards the front of the mouth and the lips are relaxed.

The other diphthong (s) in the words day, pay, say, lay . The initial position is / and / with the tongue which is halfway to the front of the mouth as in “egg”, “bed” or “Ted “. Also, move your tongue up to form the diphthong.
- The diphthong / ai / as in sky, buy, cry, tie . The starting position is / a and /, the same sound as cat.
- The other diphthong is one or not closed, as in the words, boy, toy, coy or the first syllable of soya . The initial position is one or not closed with two points, as in the door sounds, or or.
